The history of Secondary Technical SchoolThe foundation of school buildingThe main school building was built at the beginning of 30s in the 20th
century for so-called Trading school, in which students were prepared for
various tradesmen’s professions. The working of famous painter Alfons MuchaDuring the summer holidays in the middle of 30s, Alfons Mucha, who regularly visited Kyšperk (later renamed as Letohrad) since the end of 20s, used the school building as the summer atelier. In this atelier he painted two great paintings in 1934 and 1935. In school auditorium dedicated to Alfons Mucha, you can find the reproductions of his famous paintings created during his stays in Kyšperk. The foundation and development of Secondary Technical School in LetohradOur school was opened on 1st September 1951 and was situated in the building previously owned by Trading school. Since the first half of the 70s, the extension of the school building started. It was followed by the construction of two boarding houses, gymnasium, school cafeteria and outdoor sport grounds, which took more than twenty years. Nowadays, the whole grounds of Secondary Technical School are situated at Letohrad suburb and meet demanding and strict requirements for modern schools. The present and future of the schoolOn the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Secondary Technical School foundation,
the meeting of graduates was held on 1st September 2001. Since the foundation of
the school, 3,500 students have graduated. The lasting and strong relationship
with the school was proved not only by the participation of 1,200 graduates in
the anniversary, but also by the satisfaction with their lives´ carriers, which
started at Secondary Technical School. |
